課程概述 |
1.本課程以《實用視聽華語一》為主要教材，搭配教師自編講義，旨在培養學習者聽說讀寫各方面的基本能力，並特別著重於基本發音、語法訓練，期望學習者在學完本課程後，能習得簡易的日常溝通能力。此外，盼能透過課堂上的師生互動與討論，使學習者了解華人與臺灣文化。
This elementary course aims to develop all four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. After this course, learners are expected to have acquired basic communication abilities, and be able to confidently handle daily life tasks. Moreover, students will have a deeper understanding of Taiwanese language and culture.
2.本課程授課語言以中文為主，英文為輔。
This course will be conducted mainly in Chinese. English will be used only when referring to basic grammar principles and relevant key points.

課程目標 |
1.建立基本的聽說讀寫能力。
Build up the basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
2.能以中文與他人進行簡易而基本的日常會話。
Understand and use simple Chinese words and phrases to meet basic needs for daily conversation.
3.能讀懂課程範圍內的正體字，並能寫出至少五十字的短文表達個人想法。
Recognize traditional Chinese characters from the textbook and write a short essay of at least 50 words to express opinions.

出席 Attendance |
15% |
(1)每次上課皆應簽到。
Students must sign their name on the attendance sheet.
(2)上課不可無故遲到或早退。遲到或早退超過二十分鐘，視同缺席一小時。
Attend the class on time. Arriving more than 20 minutes late or leaving 20 minutes early will be counted as a one-hour absence.
(3)若因故無法上課，應在上課之前寫E-mail向老師請假。無故缺席，每小時扣出席成績1分。
Notify the instructor in advance if you are unable to attend class, or 1 point will be deducted per hour from the attendance score.
(4)缺課的人，應在下次上課前詢問同學當天上課的內容，以及作業和小考的範圍。
If you miss a class, you should ask a classmate about what has been taught that day, what the assignment is and what is going to be covered on the dictation quiz.

課堂表現及參與 Performance & participation |
20% |
(1)每次上課皆須攜帶課本、講義。
Bring all the materials you are supposed to use when you come to class.
(2)上課應積極參與課堂討論，不應從事與課程無關的活動。
It is essential to participate in classroom activities and class discussion. You should not write homework or do other things unrelated to the course during class time.
(3)上課請說中文，不說其他非中文語言。
Chinese is the language of the classroom. You must speak Chinese at all times.
(4)上課可以喝飲料，但不能吃東西。
Water and soft drink is allowed, but no food is allowed in class.
(5)上課期間請將手機轉為震動或靜音。
Phones must be set on silent mode during class time.

作業 Homework |
15% |
(1)應準時繳交作業，遲交該份作業成績以八折計算，且應在三天內補交，超過規定時間視同未交。
All assignments must be handed in on time. 20% of the grade will be deducted for late homework. Assignments not received within three days past the due date will receive a grade of zero.
(2)若請假，則應提前繳交作業或請同學代交，否則視同未交。You should hand in your homework early (before the deadline) or ask a classmate to hand in your homework for you if you will be absent on the day it is due.

平時測驗與小考 Quiz |
10% |
(1)每次上課（期中考及期末考除外）都有聽寫小考。上課鐘響就考試，遲到、請假或缺席者不補考。
A dictation quiz will be given at the start of every class (except when taking the mid-term and final exams). No make-up quiz will be provided.
(2)每上完一課會安排一次複習測驗，測驗內容為筆試（含聽力測驗）。
A review quiz will be given at the end of every lesson. No make-up quiz will be provided.

期中考 Mid-term exam |

(1)包括筆試（含聽力測驗）及口試。
The exam consists of listening comprehension, a written test and an oral test.
(2)期中考將於指定日期舉行，不能補考。若因無法避免的因素無法參加考試，須提前告知老師並擇期補考，否則將以零分計算。
The midterm exam will be given only on the assigned days. There will be no make-up exam unless there are absolutely unavoidable circumstances such as serious illness, or a death in the family. If you are unable to attend the exam due to circumstances beyond your control, you must notify the teacher in advance and request an alternative exam time or date.

期末考 Final exam |

(1)包括筆試（含聽力測驗）及口頭報告。
